Surah Aal-i-Imraan
Chapter 3 · Verse 105 · Revealed in Madinah
وَلَا تَكُونُوا۟ كَٱلَّذِينَ تَفَرَّقُوا۟ وَٱخْتَلَفُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَهُمُ ٱلْبَيِّنَٰتُ ۚ وَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌۭ
“And do not be like the ones who became divided and differed after the clear proofs had come to them. And those will have a great punishment.”

The Command to Establish the Invitation to Allah
Allah said,
وَلْتَكُن مِّنْكُمْ أُمَّةٌ
Reflection — Maarif ul Quran
Having established that Muslims have a distinct mission to convey and preach the God-oriented message of good, the text moves on to warn Muslims with the words:
وَلَا تَكُونُوا كَالَّذِينَ تَفَرَّقُوا وَاخْتَلَفُوا مِن بَعْدِ مَا جَاءَهُمُ الْبَيِّنَاتُ
